What cost per day means
Cost per day divides the initial price of a purchase across the total time you expect to own and use it. When you buy an item for Rp 4,500,000 and keep it for three years, the expense doesn't vanish on day one—it represents a calm commitment of about Rp 4,110 for each day of ownership.
Why ownership time changes the picture
A higher upfront price can feel very different depending on durability and lifespan. Caring for an item so it lasts twice as long naturally halves its daily cost without spending an extra cent.
- 1 year (365 days) → Rp 10,000 / day
- 2 years (730 days) → Rp 5,000 / day
- 5 years (1,825 days) → Rp 2,000 / day
Cost per day is not the whole story
A low daily cost doesn't automatically make an item worth buying, and a higher cost doesn't make it a mistake. Durability, how often you reach for it, repairability, resale potential, and how much calm or utility it brings into your daily life are equally part of the equation.
Track real ownership later
Before buying, calculations help frame expectations. After buying, Worthwhile gives you a calm space to log items, track cumulative usage, and reflect on what proved genuinely worthwhile over time.
